Our public education system has been the backbone of Iowa for years and it has been under attack recently. We use to rank high in the nation for Education and that is dropping quickly. Every child deserves the chance to a good quality public education. We need to make sure we are fully funding our public schools. It is necessary to bring back the funding to the AEA to provide those services that rural schools will desperately be missing. We need to work to show our school staff that we support them and appreciate how they are here to help our children and make a difference in the future. Our public schools provide a needed lifeline in our rural communities and it is time to step up and support them.
We need to put people above politics and other outside interests in this state. It is important to stop letting out-of-state corporations and special interests come in and tell us how we should be running our government. We should be listening to what us Iowans have to say and what is needed in our areas. Policies should be written in the interest of Iowans, not corporations. We need to be looking for more ways that our public has a voice in our government, not fewer ways. We strive as a whole by learning from each other and growing together. We need to put our voice back in our state government.
Our rural communities and residents deserve to have high quality healthcare. We are starting to see a decrease in amount of services offered in rural Iowa. It is important to work to make sure necessary services aren't being taken away from our rural areas. We need to have high quality affordable heath care available to our rural population. Increasing access to mental health services is also vital in our communities. People should not have to travel or wait months for quality healthcare and mental health services.
Our rural communities are built on hard work and we need to make sure we can make people's live sustainable in this environment. We need to work to build back our middle class instead of continuing to watch it slowly fade away. People should have a opportunity to work hard and be properly paid and supported with their work. We all deserve a chance for success in this life when we all spend our lives working so hard.
We are the backbones of our communities and we need to make sure we are supported. Families need access to available and affordable housing. Childcare is also a problem and we need to find solutions to create and keep affordable options for families. Iowans also need to feel supported in our communities. Instead of working on real change in our state, legislators have been writing bills that tear down people and their rights in our communities. This is especially true to people in the LGBTQIA+ community. We need to show them support and work to treat everyone with respect.
Our land is vital to our survival as a state. This includes not only agriculture, but our public lands and water as well. We need to work on sustainable ways that support our farmers while also working to improve and clean our water. These two ideas can co-exist in this state and it is time we work to make this a reality.
